Profile
Born in Swavesey and educated at the village Primary School before going to Cambs County High School – now Hills Rd Sixth Form.  I had by now developed a deep interest in music, it was the 60’s after all, and so after one year as a trainee insurance underwriter “dropped out” to become a professional musician and subsequently spent 3 years of the early ’70s based in Switzerland, a good central base for touring the European continent, which we did. After 8 years I had developed a penchant for sound engineering which resulted in my spending the next 15 years or so touring the world as a sound engineer for live band concerts before becoming more settled with musical equipment rentals and show production works based in London.
Having never lost contact with Swavesey due to flying visits to see my parents, bought the lease on the White Horse in 1999 and moved in permanently the following year to run the pub until September 2014.
Became a member of the Parish Council in 2003 and became a member of the Memorial Hall Committee later that year.  Having now officially retired, so they tell me, am able to devote more time to this historic village and its community.
Interests include being a member of the Cambridge CAMRA branch policy group in its endeavours to keep community pubs open. Currently chair of the Cambridge and district Bar Billiards association.

Profile
I have lived in Swavesey, with my wife Lorraine, for over twenty years. We moved, with our three children, to the village from the South Coast due to my work being relocated to RAF Wyton where I worked for 10 years as a programme and project manager. Since early retirement in 2005 I have been working as a Management Consultant for various companies in Europe and the USA.
I am a trustee, volunteer and treasurer for the Swavesey Library and treasurer and a volunteer driver for the OWLS Community Car Scheme.
I joined the Parish Council in 2016 and have been involved in the instigation of a Neighbourhood Plan for the village.
My interests include football, I am a Cambridge United season ticket holder and I try to play golf and badminton each week. I also enjoy walking and spending time with the family especially my young grandchildren.
