Re: The Death of Mrs Jean Cooper

The family of our much beloved Jean wish to thank everyone, friends, neighbours and past neighbours; for the numerous sympathy cards received after her tragic death.

Everyone has been of great comfort to us all. We would like to thank our vicar for his time and words of comfort and also Bethel Baptist Church for their card and flowers.

Thanks also to all who attended the Memorial Service at St Andrew's Church on December 9th.

Our sincere and heartfelt thanks to all of you.

From Harry, Tony, Kathy and Mark Cooper

Dear All,

Our New Year started with having to clean up our house following the activities vandals. They had taken the contents out of a dog-waste bin, close to our house, and then thrown them all over our home. We suspect that the culprits were teenagers (of both sexes) who choose to celebrate New Year in the streets of Swavesey. I can understand that being out in the cold and dark in the middle of the night is not a lot of fun, and that, under those circumstances, almost anything can seem entertaining - but to deliberately put your hand in the dog-waste bin and pull out the contents, is not just disgusting, it's also a health hazard, both for us having to clean up, but above all for the people doing it. If it was intended as a joke, please note that we are not laughing. We hope that all parents (we don't expect the youngsters to read this magazine) take this onboard and do what they think best to inform their sons and daughters about the seriousness in being involved in this kind of vandalism, which is also actually illegal.

We wish you all a better start to the rest of the year.

An un-amused neighbour

What a lovely day we spent, on the 5th December, at the French Market.

Wonderful food, drink, gifts to buy and the stall holders were delightful to talk to.

My whole family enjoyed the occasion and hope it becomes an Annual Event.

Thank you all the organisers.
