Letters To The Editor
Swavesey Green
As you know Swavesey Green is an excellent local resource used by many different sections of the community for the enjoyment of all. Unfortunately, some members of the community are spoiling it for everyone else. Those of us connected to Swavesey Spartans Football Club (U7 - U16 yrs) enjoy using the Green for playing football most weekends during the season. However, before every game we have the unenviable task of collecting, up to a carrier bag full, of dog muck. We have also had occasion to pick up broken glass (usually beer bottles) prior to the matches. As you can appreciate both these substances are extremely dangerous and unpleasant for all users of the Green.
There have been a number of letters written to this magazine on the same subject. However, we felt it was worth mentioning again as we are embarking, with the Swavesey Institute Football Club (seniors), on an ambitious project to build a pavilion on the Green. This is a much needed facility, not just for the football teams, but also potentially for many other users of the Green.
So please respect this environment and support our efforts to make it an even better resource for the village.
