Help to Save Local Bus Services

In March 2019, it is highly likely that villages in the St Ives area will see either a reduction in or removal of some of the existing village bus routes.

Swavesey Parish Council, in conjunction with other Parish and Town Councils in the surrounding area, is keen to understand the future needs of our community regarding bus routes and services to enable it to inform and lobby all parties so that they make sound decisions that work for all of us.

A survey has been commissioned to understand the needs of each household.   Please help by completing this one page survey online: Bus Survey   Or printing a paper copy here: Bus Survey 2018 and completing and returning it before 31st October 2018.  Completed surveys can be posted into the post box by the front door of the Memorial Hall, High Street, Swavesey.

We do not know at present for how much longer the Over-St Ives daily bus service currently run by Dews, will last.  If this service finishes next March, there will be no bus service along Boxworth End, the closest bus stop for the Citi 5 for those residents will be near Ramper Rd junction.  Improved public transport links are vital, so please help by completing the survey.  Led by St Ives Town Council and Fenstanton Parish Council, the results from this survey will be discussed with the County Council and the Combined Authority Mayor’s Office.

Please share this post to others in the village.
