Proposed Changes to Buses
Now that the Guided Bus is up and running there will be
a review of the existing bus services and consideration given to connecting
villages to the Swavesey and Longstanton Guided Bus stops. Stagecoach have
recently canvassed their passengers with a proposal for a circular route
connecting Swavesey with Bar Hill going via Longstanton, Willingham and Over. The proposed service would miss out Boxworth End and travel up and down Ramper Road. The bus would alternate the direction around the loop every hour so effectivly giving a 2 hourly service in each direction. It is proposed that the Citi5 service would not continue to run through Swavesey
Discussions are ongoing to see if there are other
services that can be provided such as a mini bus.

Is this crossing at Fen Drayton Lakes safe?

The work to adjust the fencing, promised last December will not happen as the crossing is now deemed to be safe by the busway team and their independent inspector. The implied method to safely cross is to look under the rail where there is a partial view of the maintenance track which has priority at the crossing. If there are no vehicles, cyclists, runners/walkers or horses approaching then move forward to a point before the bus guide way
where it is possible to see left and right, if all clear then cross.
