Bell Ringers

At last, the two new bells have been ordered. The date for casting is September, and installation in the tower by the end of the year. Thank you for all your donations to the fund. In February, the ringers held an afternoon to improve their ability to hear errors in the striking of the bells - the imperfections in the ringing. This involved listening to recordings of different bells being rung at varying speeds. Two computers were used, one in the belfry, which simulated any number of bells while one ringer could join in on a silenced bell. The second was used to imitate repeated errors in the ringing and the ringers were encouraged to correct the faults.

On Saturday 5th June the ringers entered the annual District Striking Competition held at All Saints Church Cottenham. I am pleased to let you know that we managed to retain both the trophies we won last year! The results were:
