We start the arrangements for our Christmas Bazaar in July - when we need to prepare our advert for the November edition of the Meridian - and we write a report for the February edition, so eight months of the year are taken up with arrangements for our Bazaar but if you were one of the many who came along on the 27th November you would know that it was all worth it. The Bazaar has such a fun and festive atmosphere, with the children's fancy dress parade, our amazing grand draw, the games, the fun, the smell of coffee beans and mulled wine wafting about, and Father Christmas in his grotto. We thank the Committee, staff, parents and friends for their work; Nick Dennis and Jim Foster for a magical grotto; and all of you who came. Preschool has benefitted to the sum of £800, some of which is already earmarked for the replacement of chairs for the children.
On the last day of term, the children took part in a Nativity production, demolished a mountain of party food and disco'd until Father Christmas joined us to wish everyone a Merry Christmas.
The new term started on the 8th January with two new members of staff - Mandy Ambrose and Sue Bishop - now bringing our total staff to six. If you are interested in joining the team, please have a word with our Supervisor, Cathy Dennis, on 203039. A further eight children have joined us, and they are also warmly welcomed.

Our topics this term are firstly Wintertime - Night and Day, thinking about how creatures and people cope with the winter, and who is active at night. We are therefore looking forward to visits from snakes, spiders and owls, fire engine and police. Then from March our topic will be We Are What We Eat (dairy produce, meat, vegetables, fruit, cereals and toothcare) - involving a lot of tasting and experimenting. We have our new oven installed, and so will also be doing a fair amount of cooking too. If you have anything that you feel would be of interest to the children for these topics, please do get in touch.
A request - the computer which was given to us a while ago has finally "kicked the bucket". If you have a computer just waiting for a new home would you consider sending it our way? The children love it, and it provides them with excellent skills in readiness for school.

If you would like to register your child for Preschool (children start from the age of 2 years 10 months) or would like to talk with our supervisor about any aspect of Preschool, please phone Cathy Dennis on 07931 366826, or 203039

We wish all a happy and healthy 2002
