Front Cover:- ‘Barrel Rolling’ by Peter Morris 

The photograph was taken at this year’s Barrel Rolling competition held on  May 1st. Proceeds from this year’s event will go to the Christmas Lights and Christmas Tree fund. 

Barrel rolling competitions are held in many towns and villages up and down the country using either beer or tar barrels and in some places the competition can be traced back over one hundred years. 

In America there is a report that brandy casks were partly filled with water and then rolled around the streets to ‘tease out’ the last drop of brandy from the cask.
