EDITORIAL

High summer and even though there is no Swavesey Festival to look forward to we do have lots of other events in the village.

June sees the Open Gardens weekend over the 20th and 21st, once again your chance to see how other peoples green fingers work and maybe get some ides for your own garden.

July of course is the St Andrews Church Fete.

Maybe in the next issue we will be able to announce the start of the guided bus. Late summer was the latest date we were given but does this mean August or September? or maybe it will be October? Once it starts running what will be the implications for the existing service, will we see this cut back or even stopped? We will try as always to keep you up to date.

Finally we have once again been awarded Highly Commended in the village and community news awards, and we were also awarded the judges special award for local community involvement on the front cover. Well done Swavesey! without your articles and ­photographs we could not have achieved this and thanks must go to the team who work at producing your magazine on time every two months.

Colin, who has been doing a sterling job looking after the advertisements for the Meridian is not able to continue. We need someone to take his place. Can you help? You do not need to be an accountant just well organised and computer literate.
