ALWAYS ASK FOR AN INCIDENT NUMBER WHEN CALLING THE POLICE. THIS ENSURES THAT THE INCIDENT GOES ON THE STATISTICS AND CAN BE TRACED AFTER THE EVENT WHEN WANTING TO KNOW PROGRESS. YOU CAN ASK FOR AN INCIDENT TO BE LOGGED WITHOUT NEEDING A POLICEMAN TO CALL. JUST SAY THAT IS THE CASE.

Stray dog around Cow Fen/ Trevor Smith's field where caravans were. A black stray dog is in the area. Please capture and take to Wood Green or phone District Council and they will collect. There is a possibility that the concept of this stray dog will be used by persons as an excuse to access properties, so we need to see that it is captured.

SMART WATER. This is one of a number of household marking schemes that identify your ownership of your belongings. If you register/ purchase these systems you are given a marking system and a sticker to put on your door. Many believe that this is a deterrant to thieves. Smart Water is one of the latest, which allows local police to 1. test if an item has been stolen and 2. to find out where it was stolen from. Cambridgeshire Police promoted this scheme for some time. They have recently traced an item back to its owner through this. For further information Google Smart Water.
WARNING Police have warned that opportunist distraction burglars often operate when public utilities have been affected. Please be on your guard regarding possible bogus Water Board or similar authority "staff" who may want to access your home. Please double check I.D. with the relevant authority. Do not allow access before you have done so.
WARNINGS FOR THOSE VISITING HOTELS. Many key cards issued will have your credit card details encoded on them ! These should stay in your possession at all times and be taken and destroyed by you in order to keep your details safe. Do not throw them in a bin or allow staff to retain them.
STOLEN from nearby, horse feed, fertiliser and diesel. Please think thief when storing your belongings.

PRIME MINISTER SUPPORTS N.H.W AS PART OF THE "BIG SOCIETY"
'We need to create
communities with oomph – neighbourhoods who are in charge of their own destiny,
who feel if they club together and get involved they can shape the world around
them.' ....''It goes without saying, if we want people to play a bigger
part in our society, we need to give them the information.''
''So, for example, by
releasing the data about precisely when and where crimes have taken place on
the streets…we can give people the power not just to hold the police to
account…but to go even further, and take action themselves – for instance,
starting a new neighbourhood watch scheme, youth club or an after-school club
if they realise that’s when most of the trouble begins.''
SPEEDING Officers have caught many cars speeding in Boxworth End, with Swavesey coming at the top of the stats. for speeding this month. Further checks will be made.
TO ALL BUSINESS OWNERS/ DIRECTORS a scam is in operation that runs as follows 1. They call themselves N.H.W Support and they phone call to say that N.H.W are establishing a directory for the area and are asking the business to advertise in it. 2. People called Business Community Support then send a proof of the advert saying respond straight away or the advert will go in as it is (it is incorrect). They are after your money and there are no such legitimate organisations linked to N.H.W.
