Parish Council wins SCDC Award

Swavesey Parish Council has been awarded First Place in the South Cambridgeshire District Council Community Pride Awards 2011.

At a celebration event in October, Swavesey Parish Council was very honoured to be awarded this prize for its work in supporting community projects and events.

In presenting the award District Cllr Mrs Ellington said "This is a Parish Council that takes pride in its community and listens and acts to serve everyone, young and old."

Allotments Project - Hale Road

The Parish Council has agreed to take on a lease on approx 2.6 acres of agricultural land along Hale Road (towards the Windmill).  During 2012 this will be turned into allotment plots for local residents.  Each plot will be 125sqm.  It is anticipated that plots will be available for rent from October 2012.  The site will be securely fenced, a car park area will be provided and mains water will be made available.  If you are interested in renting an allotment plot and/or would like to be involved and help with the organisation of the allotment site, please contact the Clerk to the Parish Council on clerk@swavesey.org.uk

a pdf plan showing the location of the site can be viewed here....

Market Street - Double Yellow Lines

The County Council published the public consultation notice advertising the order to install double-yellow lines along the southern side of Market Street in the Cambridge News on 25th November.  No objections were received, therefore the Traffic Regulation Order is now being submitted.  We anticipate that the yellow lines will be painted in early March.
A plan detailing the extent of the proposed waiting restriction can be viewed here....
