Marshall Specialist Vehicles, Cambridge

At a special Parish Council Meeting on 11th October 2004, Marshalls Specialist Vehicles Division discussed proposals for relocating their workshop to a 25 acre site on the Swavesey side of Buckingway Park. A high quality, fully landscaped development was proposed

The Parish Council has recently received a letter from The Marshall Group of Companies, confirming that for the immediate future they will not be proceeding with proposals to relocate the Specialist Vehicles Division to land on the edge of Swavesey.

Concern over the likely disruption arising from the improvements to the A14 together with an increasingly pressing requirement for them to move, has forced Marshall to look elsewhere and to this end has acquired a building and site at Mildenhall.  Once there is certaintly on timing and the improvements to the A14 have been implemented, Marshall say that Swavesey could fulfil relocation needs in the longer-term.
